Since our beginnings in 1981, our mission has been to create outstanding communities that meaningfully improve the lives of those within and around them. We understand housing as a conduit to addressing other social challenges- including health care, education, energy, and transportation- and we approach each project with equal focus on the bottom line and how we will benefit both our future residents and the cities in which these communities are located.
As a vertically-integrated family of companies, we have experienced teams dedicated to developing, building, and managing multifamily communities. Each team contributes to our success in exceeding the needs of our residents, the communities we serve, and our partners.
Our team has extensive experience dealing with oft-changing regulations and working with investors, principals, and local officials to create award-winning multifamily communities.
Our full-service, hands-on team has completed construction and rehabilitation of over 12,000 apartment homes, overseeing projects from the first phase of planning through obtaining certificates of occupancy.
Our experienced and resource-focused management team uses local market expertise to optimize operational efficiency while delivering on our excellent service commitment to our residents.
Partnering with social services to provide additional support for residents at USA affordable communities has been part of our approach since our first Tax Credit community in 1989. USA continues to be a leader in this space, developing a successful scholarship and assistance grant program in 2011; and working to provide health care to residents through a new Resident Nursing Program.
The JB Brown Fund
Since 2011, the JB Brown Fund, a partnership between USA Properties Fund, Inc. and LifeSTEPS, has been helping residents at USA owned and managed communities. We provide seniors and families with assistance so they can remain in their homes during a financial crisis; and we provide scholarships so residents can improve their lives by attending a university, vocational or trade school, or through participation in youth sports.
The RN Case Management Program
Also in partnership with LifeSTEPS, USA is piloting a Registered Nurse case management program at three Sacramento-area communities.
This new program helps seniors have easy access to quality health care from a qualified and well-trained provider. The program is designed to help seniors "age in place," a critical issue that has far-reaching effects beyond health care.
LifeSTEPS and USA are actively looking for resources to continue and expand this new program.
